Following on from the release of our first product in May, the RTMI-100 UWB processor, Artimi is seeking to expand its engineering team. I'd like to hear from professionals who are keen to work on exciting new wireless projects. Whether you are an acknowledged expert or a recent graduate, what counts is that you are smart, innovative, and both a self-starter and a team player.
The roles are based in Cambridge, UK but if you are somewhere else right now, why not consider a move to the land of great music, television, food and beer?
Artimi Inc. is a fabless semiconductor company developing single chip system solutions for high bandwidth wireless connectivity based on UWB technologies. Artimi has corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, California, research and development headquarters in Cambridge, UK and a sales office in Taipei, Taiwan.*
We have a number of open positions for hardware and software engineers with experience ranging from recent graduate to guru. Your principle contribution would be to help design and develop the silicon or software for our second-generation UWB chip which will be central to new products in the coming months and years. You will be developing leading edge features, utilising powerful and modern technologies.
Desirable skills and experience include:
Modern C++ / Templates / Pthreads
Designing and modelling end-to-end radio systems
Linux Driver and Kernel, especially embedded, video card or MPEG
Chip Level RF circuit design including simulation and design for high volume manufacture
GNU tools / Perl / Python
Wireless or Networking systems
Embedded systems / hardware / FPGA VHDL / RF
Design of LNAs, PAs, Samplers upto 10GHz in small geometry RF CMOS
Healthy interest in gadgets
Every engineer will have a two-desk work area in our modern central Cambridge site. This will be your space to personalise and enjoy. In addition we will have an open plan suite for collaborative design and implementation activities including pair programming and iteration planning. Our lab provides a comprehensive test bed of equipment in an ESD controlled environment.
Your work area will be kitted out with a brand new high specification PC running the operating system of your choice (Linux encouraged), with even faster machines in the collaboration area. Open source tool chains are adopted whenever feasible, particularly GNU tools. As a new team we aren't tied to legacy systems and are free to adopt modern tools.
As well as a competitive salary and share options scheme, we can offer a company pension plan and private health insurance. Less tangible benefits include membership of the local fitness centre (which has a swimming pool, sauna and steam room), a creative tech-oriented working environment, fair overtime expectations and lots of cool technology to play with. In return we would expect you to do your job very, very well - and have fun in the process!
You won't find any bored engineers at Artimi. You'll find friendly colleagues and challenging projects. You'll be in interesting company - employees range from ex-physisicts, chemists and mathematicians to investment bankers, authors and academics. Artimi is an unusual environment where the pace is intense but family-friendly. We're looking for people with world-class engineering skills who are passionate about their work and want to make a difference. Do you thrive in small, focused teams and high-energy environments? Would you find it satisfying to develop innovative products that actually penetrate the market? If so, there is an interesting role waiting for you at Artimi.
Previous wireless networking experience is not essential for all roles, but we would expect a flair for development and good team working skills. You should not be averse to taking occasional trips to our other offices or conferences in the US and Asia. Full details of the current roles are at http://artimi.com/careers
We will be interviewing late August - please contact me with a CV via email in the first instance (firstname.lastname@example.org
