I'm still interested !

However, has anyone considered the use of an external power supply, something like a 220 to 5v adapter ? Is 5v the only required power ? Would that be easy to wire ?

I'm rather concerned by the noise, and thus by the temperature inside the box. Having an external power supply could improve that...

Or shall I wait for the next Kurobox (see http://www.kurobox.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=3901) ? (Yeah, with such reasoning, one should wait forever before buying a piece of computer hardware...)

The external power supply used by the "KuroBox (HG)X" special edition is an "UEA325D-0512-A" :
http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/akiba/ho ... nkac2.html
This model is also available from LeadingQP or Unifive :
http://www.leadingqp.com/SPS/UE25.htm
http://www2.ltec.co.jp/unifive/Product.aspx?PID=41
Using one to replace the internal PSU should be rather easy (probably just a matter of wiring a plug). So, i wonder... would it be possible to also order one while you're at it, just to make an experiment? I'm willing to give it a try (and sure, to pay for it) if it is.

And in all case, I will also take an internal supply (that's one more for France).

PS : no, i'm not dead... After a year of inactivity (lack of time, and a mp3 streaming server which was running too fine to be shut down), all this stories about 2.6 kernel are giving me motivation to get back to hacking my KuroBox again...

Hmmm...
I'd also be interested in this "UEA325D-0512-A" external power supply, if that can come in the bundle...
Would you have any estimate on the availability of this "KuroBox (HG)X special edition", as well as its availability on http://www.geekstuff4u.com/? Maybe we should ask them (http://www.geekstuff4u.com/specialorders.php)...

I have placed the order to Suzannie (monday february 06) so I don't take anymore requests.

To the people in the list below : I have received confirmation from Suzannie so feel free to confirm your order now by paying me at this place : http://biz.azylum.net . It will take you to my Paypal account where you can pay with your Paypal account or by Credit Card. Please confirm your payment with a private message here stating your real name as it appears in the payment.

Thank you

11 zyglyf --------> STATUS : Paid
12 timjohnsmith -> STATUS : Paid
13 TGL -----------> DTATUS : paid

External PSU : 25 euros (price is subject to changes if shipping is too expensive, just in case I'd lose money on this one but I think 25euros will be enough)
(http://www2.ltec.co.jp/unifive/Product.aspx?PID=41)

1 TGL ------------> STATUS : paid
2 Yannis ---------> STATUS : paid

Suzannie from Unifive just told me today the date when the PSUs will be ready : it will be in march, the 8. Usually then the time it takes to come from Taiwan is short. When I recieve them I test them and then send them in carefully handcrafted boxes.

I have the PSUs, I start shipping today : march 9

Thank you,
AshK
