 Post subject: mt-daapd requires X11???

So I wanted to use apt-get to get mt-daapd, but I was surpised to see that it needed over 30 packages, including X11.

debian.org does not show these dependencies.

Am I doing something wrong?

Should I just install this the old fashioned way by compiling it?

odd.. From your other post it looks like you are essentially caught in an upgrade to Etch from Sarge as well.

Maybe you would rather just compile the latest Firefly-SVN-nightly from source. Mt-daapd is now known as Firefly

It appears so. But I didn't tell Debian to change, I wasn't aware that it was forced on you.
