Good turnout for the last contest of 2006. The entries will once again be identified by number to give a little anonymity to the contestants. Please vote in the poll, and your votes will go to determining the winner. These are in no particular order:

(1) The KuroRipper is an addition to the Kurobox NAS system. It allows automatic copying of images, video and audio files from USB media such as USB keys, Compact FLASH, SD cards and audio CDs Link

(2) Poptop on a Kurobox. Link

(3) Detailed instructions on how to build a JTAG interface for your KuroBox. Link

(4) LCDKuro (attach a nice LCD display to your Kuro) Link

(5) RTR II - A tiny PCB auto-router system Readme Link

(6) Kernel/Uboot mods to make a more current version of the Linux kernel for the KuroHG/all other PPC-based Buffalo products. Readme Link

Voting will stay open until Friday, Dec. 1, and then winners will be announced early the next week.

It's official. We've given up on trying to get a response from the organizer of the Kurobox Contests. Buffalo hasn't responded to multiple voice messages, emails, and even a message through one of his employees; although, he did respond to an email regarding a Kurobox order. It has been more than 8 weeks without a response from anybody at Revolution.

What can I say except that Buffalo Linkstation products are almost identical hardware and come with a 250 GB drive for not much more than a Kurobox without the drive and once flashed with a telnet enabled firmware, they are indistinguishable from a Kurobox save for the color of the case. Check out the revised Buy a Kurobox link in the sidebar of the wiki.

It's offical. All 3 prizes were shipped late last week to the winners.
Unfortunately, Revolution could not be reached in time to fulfill the commitment, so the Kurobox community funds were used to provide 3 LS Pro 250 to the winners.

The winners are:

1) Dave Taylor: Detailed instructions on how to build a JTAG interface for your KuroBox
1) RussK: LCDKuro (attach a nice LCD display to your Kuro)
1)Lyakh: Kernel/Uboot mods to make a more current version of the Linux kernel for the KuroHG/all other PPC-based Buffalo products.

Thanks to everyone who has participated, but I belive this is the last contest we will see in a while.
