I managed to setup a serial connection o kuro box pro using:

http://linkstationwiki.net/index.php/Serial_port
Quote:
Parts List

$0.32 - Mouser Part # 517-929400-01-04
$20.00 - Mouser Part # 626-DLP-TXRX-G

When I connect to the com port and fire up the kuro box, I get garabage:

Not sure about putty but on minicom, I needed to delete the init string to stop the same sort of gibberish.

Thanks Juano,

I got the terminal showing readable information now, but its not responding now to my key strokes. After getting the countdown for tftp, I try to hit any key but to no avail. It just starts the tftp app.

Think its got something to do with the terminal program? or maybe my setup?

I rewired the serial connector for TTL-232R-3V3 as such:
* yellow<->1:TXD
* orange<->2:RXD
* red <->3:VCC (unused)
* black <->4:GND

I haven't solved the communication problem, but I installed a tftp server and served the following files:

http://kuroutoshikou.com/products/kuro_ ... pfw102.zip

after I changed ip setting on server machine
ip: 192.168.11.1
subnet: 255.255.0.0

hooked it up directly to the kuro pro, and I can see from serial port screen that it is downloading the 2 *.buffalo files.

I think I can get it back this way to the original state, I will let you kno how things go. But I would appreciate a solution also to my comm problem.

Thanks

I get a login prompt, but I still can not use my terminal to type input. Here is the output from serial port when I upload initrd.buffalo and uimage.buffalo.
