I used this .bin file here: http://downloads.nas-central.org/Users/timtimred/lsppchg/
so I can vouch for that one (at least it booted with the network cable unplugged - then it went crazy with DHCP requests when I plugged it back in but that was the OS, uboot had already done its job). The file there is for an HG. If you don't have an HG, use the one here instead: http://downloads.nas-central.org/Users/timtimred/lsppchd/

For the one I used I get:
Code:
$ head -c 52 u-boot-lsppchg-1.2.0-r2.bin
'VU-Boot 1.2.0 (Apr 10 2007 - 19:13:32) LinkStatio$

The problem with trying to build your own currently is that the git repository referenced in the instructions is gone, you have to get the uboot source from somewhere else as someone mentioned in another thread.
u-boot-hg.flash.bin
Good luck

Interesting, when I do a head -c on the u-boot-hg.flash.bin file I currently have, I get:

Code:
'VU-Boot 1.2.0-g6af43833-dirty (Aug 16 2007 - 10:43:13)

So does that mean that your 1.2 is different than my 1.2?

Thanks

Yes, our uboots must be different, who knows by how much. I think Lardmonster had it right in his post a few months back: http://www.kurobox.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=8361#8361. timtim must have known how to either get the tagged release or downloaded the 1.2 tarball to start with.

I would expect your 1.2 to behave like my 1.2 in regards to booting without the 192.168.11.149 host on the network. Maybe my test with the cable unplugged wasn't the right test. Funny thing is I can't easily down the host I have here on 192.168.11.149 to test it, that's why I just unplugged the cable to the kurobox. I think I can try the actual test case later on tonight.

I tested timtim's uboot labeled this way
Code:
U-Boot 1.2.0 (Apr 10 2007 - 19:13:32)
with no 192.168.11.149 on the network ... it booted up just fine. timtim's .bin file might be the easiest way to get 1.2 uboot currently.

If you want to roll your own I would follow the instructions but download the 1.2 tarball instead of the git clone.

Interesting that yours works and mine didn't even though they are the same version (1.2). I may try the setenv suggestion before doing any more compiling.

Stay tuned :)

Very sorry but I've been away for a while and work is getting out of hand. Hopefully in a week I can sit down and examine this again with feedback.

Thanks
