Hi,

I searched the forum for this but couldn’t find anything? Sorry if this I a dual post.

I have a HG and use it on my Gigabit LAN. I can only seem to get around 18 Megabytes a second out of my Gentoo-arised Kuro using vsftpd?

I’m using a Gigabit switch and a gigabit cards throughout.

Shouldn’t I be getting better performance than that? Where is my bottle neck?

Cheers,
Stonie.

Did you see this thread in the gentoo forum? It might explain some of it: http://www.kurobox.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1289

So looks like the Kuro HG is just too short on CPU to actually make full use of Gigabit Ethernet?

Bummer. Might look at JFS for my next install.

Stonie, You are right. One of the major failings of the HG was its Gigbit ethernet. The crappy interface used needs a lot of CPU help and the HG just cannot keep up with gigabit speeds. The Pro, on the other, does well and has low CPU overhead.
The question is do you NEED GB speeds? I know I kno. You bought this for its GB but seriously I stream video from my KuroHG to my Linktheater via wizd with no skips or pauses.
